All designers have ideas for speculative projects that they believe will influence the world in some way. From architectural proposals of new typologies that resolve a humane issue to graphic designs that will become the next iconic image of today’s world and the last bottle that is designed from cradle to cradle, designers always have innovative ideas in their minds. How can designers pursue these ideas and share them with the world?

In this episode, Mike asks Tim about his process of coming up with his speculative projects for his blog, Journey of an Architect. Tim shares the different ways that his projects have developed and the different ways that he finds inspiration for each one. Mike talks about his interest to start pursuing speculative projects of his own and sharing his process on his blog, Evolving Architect. They get into a larger discussion about how designing personal speculative projects can help a designer’s career.
